Next, a watertight EPMD rubber membrane will need to be installed over the top of the roof deck for protection against water accumulation and debris. Then, flat 2x6’s or “sleepers” will need to be installed every 16 inches on top of the surface. This step will provide a nice and strong surface for the deck.
Prior to building, cleaning and maintenance work of the membrane below the deck is highly encouraged. The construction of the deck panels should make it easy to lift with minimal effort or damage. The surface below the roof should be thoroughly cleaned and inspected throughout the construction process. This will ensure that your roof is installed properly and prevent any harmful damages.
Depending on what type of roof you have will influence which method our contractors will use to build your rooftop deck.
